Saturday 10th January - walks *** – Around Felixstowe – Sunny
periods and cold.
As it is the weekend I was just going to have a morning at home doing my
exercises but someone had posted a pic of someone surfing down by
Felixstowe pier so I quickly got dressed and drove down, parking at 11 o
clock. There were in fact three surfers out enjoying some cracking waves
rolling in but it is very cold, around 2 degrees air temperature! I stood
on a groyne for ages taking pics before heading for home for breakfast and
to send some in to the TV weather but once again both sides did not use
any, the lean period continues!
It was now too late to do my exercises so Mag and I decided to go for a
walk heading down to the prom at 2.45 in lovely winter sunshine with the
good waves still rolling in! A quick spin round the pier to watch the sea
before walking all the way to Jacobs Ladder on a pretty busy prom, with the
wind light we got too hot and had to undo the coats! We spotted a lovely
long twisty piece of driftwood in the sea near the Town Hall so I pulled it
up to near the prom with the aim of picking it up later in the van! We
returned past the Fludyers Hotel before turning up to Tesco to buy some
crusty rolls for our homemade soup! We then drove down to the beach in the
dark to pick up the drift wood which only just fitted in the van and it
will luck great inn the garden!
